Trishaw Ride

Trishaw
Trishaw or 'beca' known as one of the famous icon in Melaka because of the decorations. It is also as the main transport for tourist to travel around Melaka city.

Different from trishaw in Penang, Melaka's trishaw passenger seat is on the left side of the trishaw driver whereas in Penang the trishaw passenger is in front of the driver. 
 
This is the fun, relaxing and exciting way getting around Melaka. The visitors can ask the trishaw rider about the interesting place around Melaka, thay also can be your best tourist guide as they know the Melaka city. Example of place where you can find trishaw services available for hiring are The Stadhuys, Porta de Santiago and Equatorial Hotel Melaka.

In the flowery decorative trishaw equipped with an audio player that play popular songs or musics at the passenger mother tongue.

At the Stadhuys, notices on regulated or standard trishaw hiring rate are visibly seen. The charge for trishaw service is fixed at RM40 per hour only.

River Cruise 

From it's role as a meeting point between the East and West in the 16th Century, Melaka River has morphed into a tourism destination today. Locals and foreigners visitors come o soak in it's history from the diverse architecture found along its banks. There are old churches, mosques, bridges, clan houses, warehouses, temples and villages that have withstood the test of time.

The river boat will cruise up the shallow Melaka River from their mouth to Kampug Morten where the boat makes their return trip. The distance is about 10 km from jetty and takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. A tour guide will highlight the interesting things to you.

As you cruise further up the river, you will be able to see old shop houses that are built on her left and right banks. Some of these old shop houses used to have warehouses (godowns) built at the back of their premises. Trade & goods used to be loaded onto boats since Malacca was once a famous seaport.

There are 18 boats available which can accommodate 20 to 40 people. The boats will leave every 30 minutes.
